Lancastergram Photo Walk

Good morning,

I wanted to help promote a free, open to the public, “Lancastergram Photo Walk” that my son, Zach Heaton is running on September 12th. Make sure you come out to be part of this fun event! The group will be touring historic downtown Lancaster, PA and capturing a few street images as they go. I personally love street shooting, although I don’t get to do it as often as I would like but when I do I always come home with a few solid images.  Here are the details for the Photo Walk:

Perseid Meteor Shower

Good morning,

Happy Friday everyone!

Zach and I went out last night for a little night-time shooting with hopes of capturing a few meteors from the current Perseid meteor shower. No matter where you live, the Perseid meteor shower will be a treat to see. On a dark, moonless night, which is your best time to view, you can often see 50 or more meteors per hour of course we only saw about 6, but then again we went out around 10 pm instead of the early morning hours.

Finding the right location can be a challenge so thankfully we know our area pretty well and headed over to an old Amish schoolhouse to use as our foreground element. Also, finding a dark enough sky in Lancaster or Chester counties can be a completely different challenge 🙂
