The Elusive Blue Poppy

Blue Poppy

For the past couple of weeks the elusive Himalayan Blue Poppy has graced Longwood Gardens causing a stir among photographers and gardeners alike. These spectacular flowers—which are native to the high elevations of the Himalayan Mountains, are forced by Longwood to bloom every year in March.

They are a difficult flower to photograph mainly due to planting locations and not having the cleanest backgrounds for photography.  Every year photographers (including myself) try their best to capture and do justice to this beautiful plant!

Best of Light,

Ed
